Measurements and launch monitor
Choose your shop’s device, enter averages by hand or import your launch monitor’s CSV export, with no duplicates when you re-import.
GolfSpec works with any launch monitor, or with no device at all. You can enter measurements by hand or import the CSV file exported by the device software. They feed the comparison between current and tested clubs, the dispersion chart, gapping and the AI analysis.
Launch monitor data is included in the Pro and Full plans, and during the free trial.
Choose your shop’s device
Tell GolfSpec which device your studio uses: the import window then shows instructions for that device.
- Open Settings, Integrations tab (administrator only).
- Under Launch monitor, pick your device in the Device used in the studio list. Your choice is saved right away.
- Read the box that appears: where to export the session, and whether columns are recognised automatically (Columns recognised) or mapped by hand (Columns to map).
With no device, choose No device (manual entry). If you answered the device question during the quick setup, it is already filled in; you can change it at any time.
Enter averages by hand
On the fitting page, in the Performance data section, click Enter measurements, or Add measurements if measurements already exist. The same form is available at the Tests step of Session mode and in the guided session.
- Say whether this is the player’s Current club or a Tested club.
- Choose the club and, if needed, the brand, model and shaft.
- Copy the averages shown by the device: club and ball speed (in mph), launch, spin, carry, total, offline, dispersion, apex. Smash factor is calculated automatically.
- Enter the Number of shots behind these averages (+1 and +5 buttons): this is what moves the guided session counters forward.
- Click Save measurements.
Distances use the shop unit, set in Settings, Shop tab, Distance unit field. Without a network, the entry is queued and syncs once you are back online.
Import the device’s CSV file
Export the session as a CSV file from the device software. Then, on the fitting page, click Import a CSV (the button is called Import measurements when link import is enabled, and Import in the guided session).
- Click Choose a CSV file and select the export. The box above it reminds you where to export, based on the device you declared.
- Check the Column mapping: each GolfSpec field (club, ball speed, spin, carry…) points to a column of the file, or to — Ignore —.
- Choose the default type, Current clubs or Tested clubs, and the Default category, used when the club name is not enough to tell.
- Check the averages preview per club, then click Continue with … clubs.
- For each club in the file, choose Current or Tested, then click Confirm import (…).
If the file does not say which club was hit, type it in Club in this file: all its shots are assigned to that club. To tell apart several models of the same club, open Split by another column and pick the model or tag column.
One import handles up to 2,000 rows and 30 clubs.
Recognised formats and units
Columns from these exports are recognised automatically. You can still adjust the mapping before confirming.
- TrackMan, CSV export from TrackMan Performance Studio (TPS)
- Foresight (GCQuad, QuadMAX, GC3, Falcon), export from the FSX software
- FlightScope (X3, Mevo+), export from the FS Golf app
- Garmin Approach (R10, R50), export from the Garmin Golf app
- Bushnell Launch Pro, export from the FSX software
- Uneekor (EYE XO, QED), export from View or Refine
- Rapsodo MLM2PRO, export from the Rapsodo app
For Full Swing KIT, SkyTrak or any other device, you can still import if the software offers a CSV export: you map the columns by hand. If there is no export, manual entry works club by club.
Units: when the file states its units, distances are converted to the shop unit and the preview says so. When it does not, as with some Uneekor or Rapsodo exports, the File units box asks for the units set on the device during the session: distances, apex height and speeds.
Brands mentioned are the property of their respective owners; no affiliation. Where the export lives depends on your software version.
Mishits and re-import without duplicates
- Mishits: from 5 measured shots on a club, outlying shots (by carry, or ball speed when carry is missing) are excluded from the averages. They stay in the shot details, and the preview shows how many were excluded.
- Summary rows: the average or standard deviation rows added by some software are ignored.
- Re-import: importing the same file again on the same fitting updates the clubs already imported instead of duplicating them. These clubs carry the Already imported badge, and an unchanged file shows Clubs already imported, no changes.
After the import, each club shows the current / tested comparison and the dispersion chart. The pencil lets you complete an imported club (brand, model, shaft) or fix a value; the bin deletes its measurements. The AI analysis review updates on its own after an import.
TrackMan link import (beta)
An optional feature, off by default. You never need it: CSV import is always available.
- In Settings, Integrations tab, the TrackMan — report link import card appears when the chosen device is TrackMan. Turn on Enable report link import.
- In the fitting page import, choose TrackMan link, paste the report link shared from TPS or the TrackMan app, then click Analyse the report.
- For each group, say whether it is the current club or a tested club, then confirm the import.
Between two series, Refresh TrackMan re-imports the last report imported from this device, without creating duplicates.
Unofficial feature: it relies on a TrackMan service that is not a public interface, and may change or stop without notice.
