Guided session and AI analysis
Run a fitting protocol step by step, let the AI suggest cues and recommendations, then approve the quote yourself.
The guided session runs the fitting type’s protocol full screen, step by step, while the AI comments on your measurements. The AI suggests; the fitter always decides.
The guided session and AI fitting are included in the Pro and Full plans, and during the free trial.
Set up a protocol for each fitting type
A protocol is a list of steps. Each step sets a club category, a goal and a target number of shots. The fitting types created at sign-up already have one.
- Open Settings, Fitting tab, Fitting types panel (administrator and managers).
- Click a type to open it. Under Guided session protocol, click Use suggested protocol if the type does not have one yet.
- Adjust each step: club category, goal (Baseline (current club), Test heads, Test shafts, Validate config or Gapping / distances) and number of shots, from 3 to 50. The arrows change the order; Add step, Reset and Remove complete the editing.
- Click Done, then Save.
The suggested protocol depends on the type name: driver, woods and hybrids, irons, wedges, putter, otherwise full bag.
Start the guided session
The Guided session button appears at the top of the fitting page when its Fitting type has a protocol.
- Open the fitting page and click Guided session. The screen switches to full screen, designed for a tablet.
- Click Start guided session. The timer starts.
- Follow the step timeline at the top of the screen: the current step shows shots hit against the target.
Quit takes you back to the fitting page. When you come back, the session resumes where you left it.
During the session: cues, counters and measurements
- Cue: at each new step, then when the shot target is reached, the AI says what to do next, sometimes with a precise setup to build, taken from your catalog. The thumbs let you say whether the cue was helpful.
- Add measurements: click Manual entry to type the device averages with the Number of shots, or Import to load its CSV export. The form is pre-filled for the current step.
- Counters: they move forward with the number of shots recorded for the step’s club category. An entry without a number of shots does not move them. A baseline step also counts current-club measurements taken before the session.
- Next step moves on even if the target is not reached; Skip skips the step. You stay in charge.
- Step dispersion: the shot chart for the current step, when the import includes shot-by-shot details.
If your shop has enabled report link import (beta) and a report is linked to the fitting, shots flow in on their own during the session (Live indicator). See Measurements and launch monitor.
AI analysis and adding to the quote
On the fitting page, the AI session analysis section offers two buttons:
- Analyze session: data quality, a verdict per club (Keep current, Candidate wins, Too close to call, Needs more shots), prioritised recommendations, next steps, bag gapping and Tell the client talking points.
- What to test next?: what to do next in the fitting.
The AI uses the player profile (handicap index, speeds, body measurements, goals), the interview, per-club measurements, items already on the quote, your notes and the declared device. Differences between clubs and gapping are calculated by GolfSpec before being sent to the AI. After a measurement import, the review updates on its own (Review updating…). If nothing has changed, the last analysis is shown again; Run again requests a new one.
- Under Recommendations, click Add to quote.
- The item form opens pre-filled (category, brand, model, shaft, flex, loft): check it, complete it, then click Add the item.
- The recommendation shows Added.
Recommended heads and shafts come from your catalog: active brands, products not hidden. If the right product is not in it, the recommendation says so without pre-filling a head.
The analysis is a suggestion: read it and approve every choice before offering it to the client. The thumbs (Helpful analysis, Not helpful) let you give your feedback.
End-of-session review
When the last step is completed or skipped, the screen shows Protocol complete! and the session length. The full AI review starts automatically and appears below. Back to fitting takes you to the fitting page, where the review stays available under AI session analysis.
For a write-up aimed at the client, the AI summary section of the fitting page turns your notes into a text explaining each equipment choice: click Generate the summary, edit the text, then Publish makes it visible in the client portal and the PDF.
The assistant in session mode
In Session mode, the Assistant button opens the Fitting assistant. It knows the profile, the measurements and the clubs selected so far. Ask a free question or use a shortcut: Why this choice?, Next club, Explain this shaft, What to tell the client?.
Daily cap, outages and data sent
- Cap: 200 AI analyses per day per shop, guided session cues included, reset every day at midnight UTC. An analysis shown again without changes does not count. Beyond the cap, the screen shows Daily AI analysis cap reached for the shop — try again tomorrow.
- The assistant does not count towards this cap, but it asks you to wait if questions come too fast.
- If the AI is overloaded or unreachable, the guided session carries on with the protocol: the cue shows AI cue unavailable — follow the protocol below. with the reason and a Retry link. Your measurements and step progress do not depend on the AI.
Analyses are produced by Google’s Gemini models, a subcontractor listed in the privacy policy. The client’s name, email and phone number are not sent; avoid writing them in your notes, which are sent as they are. Physical constraints are only sent with the client’s consent: see Your data and GDPR.
